Getting Ready for AUSTRAC Enrolment

H & M Enterprise Solutions — Helping you grow confidently and stay compliant as Australia welcomes new Tranche 2 businesses.

Overview
Starting July 1, 2026, businesses like real estate agents, accountants, lawyers, and more will need to enrol with AUSTRAC and follow the AML/CTF rules. To make this easier for you, we have put together a list of what you’ll need before you start the online enrolment.

1. Your Business Info

AUSTRAC wants to know who you are and how you work. You’ll need to share your legal name, any trading names, your ABN/ACN, and where you operate. If you have a website, don’t forget to include that too!

2. Your Structure and Ownership

It’s important to be clear about who owns your business. details about your business structure, beneficial owners, and any companies you might have. An organisation chart can be handy here.

3. Your Services

Let AUSTRAC know what services you offer under Tranche 2 and when you started (or plan to start) providing them. This helps them understand your business better.

4. Your Key People

AUSTRAC will want to know about your directors, senior managers, and anyone else who has a say in your business. In some cases, they might ask background checks.

5. Your Financials

You’ll need to provide your latest financials and an estimate of your annual earnings. This helps AUSTRAC figure out your fee.

6. Your Compliance History

Be prepared to answer if your business or key people have faced any legal issues, either in Australia or abroad.

7. Your AML/F Program

Make sure you have an AML/CTF Program ready or at least in progress before you enroll. This includes your risk assessment, how you check customers, and your reporting and training plans.

8. Reporting Groups

If you’re part of a group or network, you could form a reporting group to make compliance easier. AUSTRAC will need details about all group members and the main entity.

9. Your AUSTRAC Contacts

Pick a few people in your business to be your contacts with AUSTRAC. They will handle compliance notices, and updates.

Next Steps

Once you have all this information, you’ll be ready to fill out the AUSTRAC Business Profile Form (ABPF) and complete your enrolment.
